I remember excruciating pain.
I remember unimaginable heat.
I remember an undeniably beautiful young woman.
But I’m not sure whether these things are real.
One year ago, Ash Brandon was framed and sent to an unknown realm where he learnt his fate. A fate where he held the blood of an ancient line of Dragon shifters called Dragon Hearts. The thing is, he can no longer remember. All he knows is that he is a nineteen-year-old guy who wants to study architecture and one day, take over the family business.
Then two beautiful girls show up in his life — one who is sexy as hell and could be the woman of his dreams, while the other claims to have known him from a past he cannot remember. Only there is one thing he can’t wrap his mind around — Why does he crave each of the girls?
A now eighteen-year-old Eva, a powerful Dragon Heart Keeper from the Dragon Realm, is punished by her parents and sent to the earthly realm by her witch maiden. Her memories have all been wiped clean, but why can she still remember Ash, and the undeniable bond they once shared?
Emily is a Siren princess, and she always gets what she wants. When she sets her sights on Ash, all bets are off. She will make him hers — if only his Keeper weren’t in the way.
Will Ash discover who he truly is before its too late? Or will his deadly addiction to both girls get him killed?

SO...there I was...
I had heard that Author Elyse Salpeter was going to be at the airport on route to an exotic holiday destination. I looked around and couldn't find the gate. There was no time to waste. Her flight would depart soon.

I run to the information desk. The helpful lady directs me to Gate 4 where Elyse would be waiting. I ran as fast as I could. I dodge security like a master ninja! I finally saw her sitting with her family. Out of breath and flustered I zoned in on my target. Kabam!! I tripped over some guys luggage. The whole place went quiet and looked at me. My self esteem silently died of embarrassment. Screw it! I already threw my name away all over the place, so I decided to go make a new one! I gathered everything that fell out my handbag, got up and walked over to Elyse.
"I just need to ask you some questions?" I humbly requested an interview after the initial introductions had been made.
Elyse smiled and with a kind voice said, "If you make it quick, I can answer a few questions."
I shoot! I score!!!!

"What do you do for fun"

"I’m a bit of a thrill seeker and one of my favourite things to do is join my fellow Gastronauts for a “shock food dinner.” This is a group that loves to eat diverse foods with different textures and flavors and ethnicities. You see, what is strange and odd to our American palates is normal for people in other cultures. I’ve had the chance to eat everything from brains to large land snails, cow’s feet to tripe and goats head stew… I won’t lie, though - I’m nervous for my first bug challenge. I’ve eaten insects before, but they’re not my first choice for shock food."

"When did you first start writing?"

"I always wrote, though when I was a little kid I used to draw comics. Crazy ones about stores with strange wares on each floor. I’d also draw cars that were twenty stories high, filled with amusement parks, jumpy castles, bedrooms. Apparently I had a wild imagination even as a child."

"Why did you write this book?"

"I wrote FLYING TO THE FIRE because I wanted to continue the story of Danny Anderson that I had started in Book #1, FLYING TO THE LIGHT. I thought there was more of a story to tell and I thought I’d make it even darker and scarier and continue the theme about the afterlife that I had started."

"What is the best advice you ever received?"

"To follow your dreams and not let “the reality” of publishing get you down. I don’t know if I’ll “ever make it big” but I know that if I don’t try, then nothing will ever happen."

"How long did it take to write?"

"This novel took about six months, but then I spent a few more months getting it edited."

"What is your next project?

"I have a horror novel called THE MANNEQUINS that is being edited right now and I’m hoping to launch for Halloween. It’s about a film crew that disappears after breaking into an old, abandoned mansion on the set."

"What do you measure success to be?"

"This is a tricky question for me. The “pat answer” is that success is when you connect with even one reader and they appreciate your work. Success is knowing that so far I’ve put out five novels, that I worked so hard on them and that they’re being well received. But, part of me is validating my success on the sales of these novels as well. Maybe it’s because I’m a sales rep for my day job and we validate our own worth on making our quotas. I need to constantly remind myself that I am successful, whether or not I sell a ton of books."

"Who inspires you?"

"Lots of people. People who don’t give up. People who don’t let health or age be a factor. People who persevere despite the odds. There is a wonderful YA author named Gwen Choate who is 92 years old and is releasing yet another YA novel soon. She tweets, posts on Facebook. I look to her for inspiration and I’m just so proud of her."

"Who is your favourite author?"

"My favorite author are actually co-authors Douglas Preston and Lincoln Child. They have a series with an FBI Agent named Agent Pendergast and it obsesses me. To have a character that stays with me well after I’ve finished a book is something amazing. I hope to do that with my own characters one day."

"Who are you as a person? Tell us things about you that are not already in your bio?"

"Something about me. I’ve got a lot of things roaming through my head and a lot of things I’d like to accomplish in my life. People know I love food, but what they may not know is that I’d love to be a chef and have either my own restaurant or a cool soup/stew food cart one day. I make really fantastic “one pot meals” like chili, chicken soup and stews. There! That’s something people do not yet know about me! "

Shortly after the security showed up and forced me to buy a plane ticket if I wanted to be at the gate. Wanting to spend more time with Elyse, I decided to get one. Which begs me to ask the question..."Where tam I flying to today?"

Title: Sovereign Plague
Author: Rachel A Olson
Genre: Post-Apocalyptic PNR 18+
Release Date: August 29, 2014
Blitz Host: Lady Amber's Tours

In the year 3127, the human race faces possible extinction when a viral outbreak spreads like wildfire during a never ending cold spell. Former militia member Barrick Hardison has been forced to use his training for survival before, and finds himself doing it again…but this time for a woman he hardly even knows.

Lyza Guerrera has spent her entire life trying to hide in the shadows. It didn’t do her any good. An orphan from the former Puerto Rico region, Lyza’s foreign looks simply attract danger, including Barrick. Fortunately for her, Barrick doesn’t seem to have any interest in her, or anyone else for that matter.

After meeting under extreme circumstances, Barrick begrudgingly allows Lyza to tag along with him. Threatening his former employer and witnessing a near upheaval of his old militia camp has given Barrick the realization that circumstances are not only worse than he thought, but he and Lyza are stuck in the middle of it all.

When it seems like their situation can’t possibly get worse, the strength of the Defects seems to be growing with numbers, and Barrick’s sanity begins to waver amidst it all. Will he get Lyza and her precious cargo to safety or will his uncontrollable feelings and impending psychosis prevent him from reaching their much needed destination?

Barrick kneeled down next to Lyza, grabbing her hand and pulling her
toward him. “Get on my shoulders.”

“What?” Lyza almost laughed in disbelief. “I’m a grown woman. A
pregnant grown woman. You don’t honestly think you’re going to
give me a ride on your shoulders, do you?” Barrick yanked on her
hand again before forcing her leg to swing up and over his shoulder.

“Either you get on or you run. Based on the lack of color in your
face and the shit you just barfed all over the floor, I think it’s safe
o say you’re in no condition to run right now. So, get on.” Barrick
was in no mood for games, and Lyza obviously heard it in his voice.
He was sure she knew exactly why the sirens had gone off, but it
apparently mattered to her what it would look like to be flying
around the militia camp, perched atop Barrick’s shoulders like a
toddler. Barrick smirked to himself. He was more enjoying the
thought of which body part would be closest to his head while
she played toddler.

“I’m a seriously dirty minded fuck,” he mumbled to himself.

“What was that?” Lyza asked, clinging as best she could to
Barrick as he rose effortlessly to his feet.

“Nothing, doll,” he responded with a clearing of his throat. “Hold on tight.”

Somewhere amidst her forty-hour job and playtime with her son, Rachel finds time to walk the streets of worlds only existing on manmade paper. She resides in small college town Northwestern Nebraska with her son, just a few blocks away from her parents. She enjoys socializing with adults, sipping sweetened iced tea, and head banging to music that doesn't carry a beat worth the effort of rock star hair slinging.
