Finally, she finds success in the cold capitalism of South Korea’s economic boom until her coworkers discover that she was a comfort woman. But through courage and strength, she’s able to fulfill her duty to her family.
Set within the tumultuous backdrop of 20th century Korea, this book will make you cry and cheer for Ja-hee. In the end, you’ll have a better understanding of the Land of the Morning Calm.

"Very engaging reading! It transports the reader to a different time and culture, and lets you walk alongside Ja-hee as she struggles to survive and prosper. While the events can be, at times, painful to read, the characters are respectfully treated by the author and the story carefully crafted to include both the horrors and the triumphs of her life and times. I'm looking forward to more! This would make a GREAT book club choice"
"Disturbing and beautiful, mesmerizing and thought-provoking, Daughters of the Dragon, invites you on a journey that cuts your breath short, leaves you weeping and cheering for the heroine, and makes you ponder the inhumane acts one can inflict on another. As you follow the brutal torture, survival, and triumphs of Ja-hee, you feel her indomitable spirit and will-to-survive seep into your soul, and you hope that under the same circumstances that you, too, could be so strong and courageous."
