About the Book: Waking up with a naked woman holding a knife at his throat is just about the last thing Sheriff Travis Flynn expected. And the brother she’s looking for? A murderer. And dead. Probably. But the real shock comes when she insists she’s not a Lycan. LeAnn Wilcox isn’t looking for love…especially not from some wolf in sheriff’s clothing. She operates on the other side of the law. Once she finds her brother—alive—she’ll get out of the pack’s territory and go back to her regular, normal, non-furry life of changing jobs and her name whenever her past closes in. The cool, logical Sheriff has finally met his match, but LeAnn’s life is at stake if she won’t claim her place in the pack, especially once his control over the pack is challenged and her brother’s fate is questioned. Excerpt: It wasn’t every night you woke up with a naked female on top of you and one of your kitchen knives at your throat. This is…unexpected. His pulse kept up its pace despite his mental reminder to “stay calm”—pulses didn’t listen to such things, dammit. This was fine. He was in control. Well, he wasn’t, but he soon would be. He inhaled, trying not to move…and it hit him. His mouth went dry as his forehead started to sweat. Hormones rushed through his system like he was a teenage boy with a crush—not a grown-ass man, a sheriff, with a genius IQ and a gun somewhere around. Now? Here? Of all the…oh, she smelled good enough to eat…dammit, seriously? Damn was it inconvenient to scent-match to someone wanting to kill you.

Heels or Flats?
(You do know you’re talking to a woman who writes in her sneakers all day long, right?) But honestly, what woman doesn’t feel that heels make you feel pretty and confident, help you express your style, and make you taller? My heroine Maddie would definitely agree!
Here are a few quotes that seem to echo this—see if you agree:
“You put heels on and you change.” –Manolo Blahnik.
“The higher the better. It’s more about an attitude. High heels empower women in a way.” –Christian Louboutin
“When I wear high heels I have a great vocabulary and I speak in paragraphs. I’m more eloquent. I plan to wear them more often.” –Meg RyanBlack or colors?
I started to wear a lot of black when my kids were small and I had to throw clothes on quickly. There’s something sheik and comforting to me about wearing black.
Neutral décor or colors?
On the other hand, my house is all about color. Probably because I live in the fifth cloudiest city in the U. S.!
Dogs or Cats?
Both. My dog for when I need unconditional love 24-7 and my cat when I want to be mostly left alone (except for when she sits on my keyboard☺)
Coffee or Tea?
Coffee all the way. But in a strange twist, I have migraines and can’t have caffeine! So I drink Starbucks decaf and fantasize about the caffeine high! (Tragic, because there is nothing as good as that start-your-day-off-caffeine boost.)
Coke or Pepsi?
Diet Coke with lots of ice from McDonald’s drive through. Don’t ask me why, it’s just so much better—colder, more bubbly, tastier!—than home.
M and M’s or Skittles?
For me, it’s all about the chocolate. Need I say more?
Airplane or Train?
Car. Like the autonomy and airplane travel is constant hassle.
Thor or Loki?
Two words—Chris Hemsworth.
Print or eBook?
Both. The books I love I buy in print because as an author I study them and it’s easier to do that with a hard copy.
Whenever I go away anywhere, I can never decide which books to bring! My e-reader has let me hoard all the books I want in one simple, thin package! Miraculous!
Summer or winter?
Summer all the way! I will never complain about heat!
Same vacation spot or different?
I love going to the same place over and over. Comforting, familiar, beautiful. Drives my hubby crazy.

Website * Twitter * Facebook Excerpt Two: As they strolled out to the walkway leading to the sea, he took her hand and pulled her along almost to the water’s edge. It was low tide and little waves lapped at the shore, leaving foam behind as the water ebbed and flowed in its endless cycle. It was chilly, but not cold, and a setting sun had colored the sky with an orange glow. “It’s so beautiful out here,” Lindsay said. “You’re beautiful.” Soft lips touched the back of her neck. She turned in his arms, soaking up his scent as her fingers threaded through his hair. He pulled her into him, their bodies fitting snugly together. As his lips covered hers, he moved against her, teasing all her sensitive parts. She closed her eyes and gave in to pure sensation as heat snaked down her body all the way to her toes. He was hard as hell and soft as sin and she wanted him badly. Too badly. She pulled away and kicked off her sandals. “Come on.” “Where?” “Into the water.” “Didn’t you get enough cold water when you fell overboard?” “That was different. I’m on firm ground here.” They’d been at odds for so long, it felt good to enjoy herself and give in to a bit of silliness. He took off his shoes, rolled up his pant legs, and joined her at the edge of the water. His gaze followed her as she inched up the hem of her skirt, trying to keep it from getting wet as she waded a bit deeper. “You’ll be sorry.” She headed back toward him as a wave with a little more water caught her from behind. Lindsay screeched and ran the rest of the way, giggling, her dress hiked up to her thighs. Chris caught her as she approached and held her at arm’s length, a dreamy look on his face. “You must be freezing. I can do something about that.” He placed his forehead against hers, his hands holding her face steady. She leaned into him and he took her mouth in a slow, drugging kiss, his tongue coaxing her lips open. She moaned, responding to the feel and taste of him, forgetting about her wet legs. “You taste good,” he said against her ear. “What do I taste like?” “Let me see.” He leaned down and ran his tongue along her lower lip. “Pure temptation with a touch of chardonnay.” She pressed her lips to his and deepened the kiss. Moving back barely an inch, she said, “Oak, butter, and vanilla with…hmm…more than a hint of spice. A perfect vintage.” “Are you sure? Try again.” She sighed and let desire wash over her as his lips covered hers and she opened to him, the kiss fueling all her pent-up longing. “Let’s get out of here,” he said against her ear. “I have a suite.” “For one-night stands?” She was feeling reckless. “No, second-night stands.” His words didn’t offer permanence, but Lindsay didn’t care. She’d tuck it away as a new memory, one that might have to sustain her for a long time. Giveaway: $25 Amazon GC Rafflecopter Code: a Rafflecopter giveaway
